What are candles

At home, you can easily make wax or gel candles, simple and aromatic. The process itself is not difficult, from materials you will need:

• paraffin or wax (for starters, you can use ordinary white household candles);

• a thread or thin cord made of cotton;

• dishes for a water bath;

• dishes in which wax will melt;

• candle mold (glass, plastic, tin).

As a form, you can use small jars from under baby food. After filling and solidifying the candles, they can be decorated - you will get a beautiful candlestick.

Candle making process:

• Place the thread in the center of the form, fixing for convenience on a wooden stick.

• Melt the paraffin by placing it in a small container and heating in a water bath until completely dissolved and a homogeneous consistency.

• Pour a little melted paraffin to the bottom of the mold, securing the tip of the wick.

• When the paraffin slightly hardens, continue to fill it further, adjusting the wick.

• After filling the form, leave it to solidify for about a day, then cut the wick, leaving a convenient end for ignition.

You can use a candle no earlier than a day after the candle solidifies completely.

Important! Melted paraffin is very hot, follow safety rules when working.

You can place decorative elements inside the form in different ways: those elements that will be laid to the bottom will remain there after solidification. But in the process of filling, you can add a new decor, and then it will "hang" or settle on the surface of the candle.

Dye or flavor can also be added to the gel. Transparent gel looks especially spectacular if you make an uneven color - for example, the transition from dark from below to lighter to the top of the candle.

Decorating the form in which the gel candle is filled is not worth it - it is aesthetically pleasing. It’s better to choose a transparent candlestick, simple too - so you can show the beauty of the candle in the best possible way.

To create beautiful and original fixtures, you can use the peel of half an orange or lemon instead of a shape. Having freed them from the pulp, pour wax into the stylized mold, after adding dye and essential oil.

You can make a coffee candle in different ways:

• adding coffee grains to molten paraffin;

• sticking them to the surface of the candle with glue or still warm wax;

• having inserted the finished candle of a smaller size into a large form, fill the gap between them with coffee beans.

It’s easy to make a candle in a bowl in the form of ... ice cream. Melt part of the wax and pour it over the wick in a bowl. Cool the other part and beat with a whisk. Then make a wax ball with an ice cream spoon and place in a bowl. You can make these balls of different colors by adding dye and fruit flavors. Put “whipped cream” from paraffin on top, decorate with decorative berries, pieces of “fruit”.

We light the family hearth

The ceremony of ignition of the "family hearth" is an indispensable part of the wedding celebration. Candles are decorated for him, observing the style and color palette of the wedding. To decorate them, you can use:

Need to cook:

• a column candle, preferably a large, wide one;

• decoupage napkin with a New Year or winter plot;

• decoupage varnish.

The simplest is the cold way, when a napkin is placed on a candle and simply gently smoothed over the surface, without leaving a single air bubble under the napkin. On top of the candle is varnished.

Another option is to put the napkin elements on the candle, cover it with wax paper on top, and then lightly heat the candle with a hairdryer.

You can decorate a candle with the help of natural elements, using burlap, tree branches, dried berries, cinnamon sticks.
