Happy hours do not watch
Of course, this is about children. And about the wall clock for the children's room, which will become a bright accent on the wall. To create them, you can attract the children themselves.
Ask them to collect old pencils, dried markers. Size, color - not important. The more "different" decor will be - the more interesting.
It will take hours — the simplest — round or square. Turn them over, attach pencils in the form of "rays" from the back. It is better to glue them with Moment glue on a plastic case, previously non-fat. "Rays" should be of different lengths, it is not necessary to observe the color neighborhood.
There is time!
You can make unusual wall clocks for the kitchen in different ways:
- decorate with coffee beans;
- decorate with small plates, cups from a doll service;
- right on the wall, make the dial out of ... spoons and forks;
- Using a wooden or plywood board as a basis, place the dial in halves of wine corks.
So you can update the old watch or create a new one.
Decorating techniques
You won’t have to buy anything for a new watch - the old watch will share the mechanism, everything else will be at home. Here are some ideas on how to decorate a wall clock, and it’s not always necessary to use a base - fix the elements directly on the wall.

Decoupage technique - application in a new way
Do-it-yourself original wall clocks can be made using decoupage technique. You will have to purchase a blank from plywood of your favorite shape, napkins with a plot to your taste, a clockwork. You will need acrylic primer, varnish and glue for decoupage (or PVA).
The workpiece is processed with sandpaper with fine grain (to an ideally smooth state), primed on several layers, once again processed with “sandpaper”. From the napkin or decoupage card we cut out the necessary elements, separate the topmost layer, and make up the composition on the basis of.
The easiest way to glue elements is "file":
-
with a thin layer we coat the base with glue where the composition elements will be located;
-
impose a napkin;
-
we put a cellophane film on top (a clerical “file” for papers is suitable - this is the name of the method), we carefully iron the picture - from the middle to the edges to expel all air residues;
-
when all the elements are glued, you can make a background with acrylic paints, finish the details.
It remains to cover with glue on several layers, insert the mechanism. The clock is ready!
Craquelure, or the effect of an old thing
In this way, you can make not only a watch for the kitchen - everything will depend on the choice of blank and a decoupage card. If you complicate the work a little, you can get an even more original decor item - using the craquelure technique.
You will need a special varnish, it is applied on a primed base - the soil is also taken not white, but colored. After that, craquelure varnish is applied, which, when dried, gives cracks. Now, as in the first case, glue the napkins and cover the finished product with varnish. To make the cracks more noticeable, creating the effect of an old thing, rub the pastel or paint into the cracks.
Alter scrap, or the new life of an alarm
Is there an alarm in the house? On legs, with a hat and bells? You will have to work hard and buy something, but you will not find such a thing in the store. Decorated with floral arrangements, other decorative materials (they are in scrapbooking stores), an alarm clock abandoned on the mezzanine will become the most fashionable detail in the interior in the styles of shabby chic, vintage.
There are a lot of options for decorating watches for the interior that will decorate the walls of the home. The base for the dial can be knitted and embroidered, burned out on a tree, laid out with a mosaic of pebbles, beans, painted with acrylic paints - only your imagination can create something that will delight your friends and decorate the house.
