Do-it-yourself original wall clocks can be made using decoupage technique. You will have to purchase a blank from plywood of your favorite shape, napkins with a plot to your taste, a clockwork. You will need acrylic primer, varnish and glue for decoupage (or PVA).

The workpiece is processed with sandpaper with fine grain (to an ideally smooth state), primed on several layers, once again processed with “sandpaper”. From the napkin or decoupage card we cut out the necessary elements, separate the topmost layer, and make up the composition on the basis of.

The easiest way to glue elements is "file":

• with a thin layer we coat the base with glue where the composition elements will be located;

• impose a napkin;

• we put a cellophane film on top (a clerical “file” for papers is suitable - this is the name of the method), we carefully iron the picture - from the middle to the edges to expel all air residues;

• when all the elements are glued, you can make a background with acrylic paints, finish the details.

It remains to cover with glue on several layers, insert the mechanism. The clock is ready!

Craquelure, or the effect of an old thing
