We prepare the basis
For starters, we are mentally tuned. After all, any thing done with love brings positive energy to your garden. Then we turn to the material. We need a base - a flower pot of any size, shape and structure (we pick up an idea for everyone).
The pot, which we take as the basis, needs to be properly prepared. To do this, you need to clean it from pollution and the existing design. Then it should be dried and continue to act depending on what we are going to do.
Design ideas
In the proposed options, you do not need to purchase expensive materials in order to create a luxurious flowerpot. To do this, we will use materials at hand that everyone has in the house. Everything that is at hand is used. However, when choosing a suitable design, the base material should be considered.

Consider a few ideas in more detail.
the cloth
One of the simple and at the same time good options is fabric. To create such a design, you need to take a clean ceramic or plastic pot, wipe it with sandpaper (for better adhesion to the material). Then apply glue to the surface in stripes along the pot in a circle. Now you can start finishing. To do this, carefully attach one edge of the fabric to the pot along its length, and continue to wrap the fabric, smoothing it (so that air bubbles under it do not accumulate). Triangular cuts must be made on both sides to make material easier to fix. Everything! The original pot is ready.
Lace
If you want to complicate the task, the option with lace is suitable for you. With their help, you can make a gentle and cute flower pot in a vintage style. As in the first case, the lace is held by glue.But here you need to be careful, as glue droplets can be seen between the lace. It is advisable to apply it in places where the areas most likely to be filled with fabric are expected. Otherwise, the technology is the same. It is enough to "put" the lace on the glue in any order. You can decorate the pot completely or arrange the lace along the edge. The choice is yours.
Sackcloth
Another option for decorating a flower pot is burlap. Used according to the same principle as another fabric. Such decor will give the garden a gentle rustic look. Complete it with buttons, decorative bugs, pebbles, flowers.
Eggshell
Using eggshells we create an exquisite mosaic. We will need:
-
ceramic or clay pot;
-
eggs
-
glue;
-
tassels;
-
paints.
Prepare the eggshell. It must be washed and drained to the desired size. Then gradually apply glue to the pot and lay out the mosaic, choosing the right parts of the shell. Using this technique, you can create a specific drawing, completely fill the space, or create a frame for a picture applied using the decoupage technique. If desired, the resulting design can be painted with waterproof paint.
Decoupage
To decorate flower pots, you can use various materials, even paper or napkins. Transfer the selected pattern from paper to the base using the decoupage technique. This requires:
-
flower pot;
-
glue;
-
tassels;
-
drawing on a napkin or paper;
-
varnish.
It is desirable that the base was made of clay, ceramic or glass (but plastic is also suitable) in bright colors.
Separate the top layer of the napkin (on which the drawing) or take paper (it should be thin) with the drawing, we lean it against the pot and gradually cover with glue. So it will fix on the base and slightly soak, taking the desired form (like a picture on a pot). We are waiting for complete drying, and varnished to fully consolidate and give shine.
Groats
Another interesting, not expensive and fairly simple idea for decorating flower pots is the use of cereals. This option is also suitable for co-creation with a child.
To do this, you need any base, PVA glue, brushes, and cereals that miss the shelves. It is better to take cereals with a flat edge: peas, lentils, pasta of any modification. Next comes the game of fantasy. Using the grits, we have the opportunity to make the original design of the pot simply by placing them on the upper and lower circles of the product, as well as create any picture. For the latter, semolina, rice, buckwheat, millet are well suited. Finished need can be painted in accordance with the contours.
Shells
We create marine themes with the help of shells. They can be brought by you from the seaside resort, then this design will also be symbolic, reminding you of your vacation. Otherwise, you can purchase them at the store.
They are mounted in a manner similar to the previous ones. That is, everything is held by glue. The rest is up to your imagination. From shells you can create an excellent marine motif on the surface of the pot, simply placing them in a certain order. Another idea that will remind you of a good time: to transfer the photo to the base using the decoupage technique and make a frame from shells. Complement the design by placing the remaining area. If desired, they can be coated with sparkles or paint.
Ropes and threads
For the decoration of flower pots, the use of ropes and threads in different versions is well suited. Consider a few:
-
Twine. A pot trimmed with this material will look attractive and restrained. It is necessary to grease the pot in a circle with glue, and tie with threads, leaning them tightly against each other. Get the original foundation. It can be decorated with various decorations to your taste, or left in this form.
-
Threads for knitting. Flower pots in the style of "yarnbombing" (covered with bright knitted fabrics) will give the garden a cheerful touch, and also protect the plants from hypothermia and overheating.
Instead of a conclusion
Decorating flower pots is a fairly simple task. To create a masterpiece, you will need a base, glue and improvised materials. Of course, do not forget about the positive mood and wake up all our imagination.
